ELEVEN MADISON PARK
ONE OF THE WORLD’S BEST RESTAURANTS
Eleven Madison Park is a true fine dining experience. The ambience of the restaurant is very New York with an art deco design, glimpses of Madison Square Park and lanterns descending from the high ceiling. With a four month Round the World trip and one week in New York City, we could only book the restaurant a mere 28 days in advance. A seating was not easy to obtain at this chic establishment. If Dinner openings were available for our dates, they were quickly secured, though we were extremely pleased to reserve a lunch seating. The restaurant was number 10 in the 2012 The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and in 2013 moved up to number five and can now understand why.
Chef Daniel Humm’s Tasting Menu is exquisite and was savoured over four hours. Your experience starts from the moment you are seated, with a small white box wrapped in black and white string accompanied with a note, placed in the centre of the table. From one dish to another, the uncomplicated ingredients seamlessly transition and the wait staff appear to out number the guests dining. If you are a New Yorker or visiting the city, an intimate date with Eleven Madison Park is not to be missed.
