ANGELINA JOLIE
UNBROKEN
It has been just over one year since Angelina Jolie was in Australia to promote her second movie as director on 17 November 2014. Angelina was accompanied by Brad, who we saw up close at his own premiere only a year earlier. Unbroken was inspired by Louis Zamperini, a past Olympian that had one of his key life events translated to film as a war survivor. He sadly passed away before it premiered. Though Angelina did get to show Louis a version of the movie.
The red carpet event was held at the State Theatre in Sydney. We were able to walk there after work and the crowd was already significant. Just past 6pm, Brad helped Angelina out of their black SUV before they went to separate ends of closed off Market Street to greet the fans and to take many selfies. They met back in the middle for a sweeping moment of affection before Angelina spent time talking to the people of the media. Up close she does look like she stepped right out from a movie screen. Wearing a fitted Gucci evening dress it accentuated how tall and delicate she is in real life. Her final interview was with Richard Wilkins just before moving into the theatre to prepare to watch the film scheduled for 7.30pm with some of the cast and VIP guests including Turia Pitt and Megan Gale.
I posted some of these photos on my other social media platforms but not here, so thought I would share now. This month, on 26 November is the opening of Angelina and Brad’s new collaboration By The Sea. I wonder if the same underlying chemistry from Mr & Mrs Smith will flow through? Given their new movie is about a couple with marital issues and they are now married it should be interesting.
