SPICERS VINEYARDS ESTATE
TRANQUILITY AWAITS
For a second weekender in the Hunter Valley wine country we opted for the tranquil Spicers Vineyards Estate, a luxury and gourmet retreat experience part of the Spicers Group. With the recent addition of four Luxury Spa Suites and a recommendation from a previous Spicers staff member at Bimbadgen winery, a reservation was made. Centrally located, but tucked away from Hermitage Road, the grand Spicers guesthouse awaits you for some days of relaxation and spoiling.
Guided to one of the first floor Luxury Spa Suites, the suite is fresh and modern with a tremendous amount of space if you are only whisked away for a weekend. From the balcony there are views of Spicers vineyards, the famed Restaurant Botanica and you can gaze back towards the guesthouse as the suite is conveniently located at the end.

A SPICERS VINEYARDS WELCOME

The gorgeous ensuite upon opening the double doors is enhanced by ambient lighting, high ceilings, underfloor heating for the cooler months and a spa that overlooks the vineyard estate. It was also the little touches that were noticed, a teeny rubber duck on the ledge of the spa and the naturally scented organic Apelles amenities, some with a hint of vanilla bean. The luxury products are beautifully presented on a natural wood display to provide a polished touch.

SPA WITH A VIEW

LUXE APELLES AMENITIES

In the Luxury Spa Suites, coffee lovers can relish in their own personal Nespresso machine and tea lovers can indulge in a variety of T2 infusions. The sleek bluestone fireplace is perfect when draped over the sofa comfy enough for two, on a rainy or winters day and sipping on a hot drink or the complimentary fruity aperitif that is delivered to you.
There is no need to leave your suite with a delightful arrival mini bar including boutique wine, beer, soft drinks and San Pellegrino sparkling water to devour whilst catching up on the luxury reads, that are also provided.

Restaurant Botanica is highly acclaimed and with some additional insight, we were advised that the chef enhances the seasonal menu by selecting the freshest produce and accompaniments from the local garden on the day. A three course dinner enticed the appetite with a complimentary canapé and delicate dishes that included tempura zucchini flowers, ocean trout and caramelised pork belly. Breakfast is also in the serene restaurant so you can continue admiring the vineyards in the morning light. Spicers’ touch on the original Vineyards breakfast included a modest buffet of cereals to suit your appetite and delivered to your table is a daily selection of fresh fruit and yoghurt, mini pastries and a hot dish.
