The Westin New York Times Square is located in Midtown with Broadway and the bright neon billboards of Times Square only footsteps away. We loved The Westin with its central location as it made exploration of the city a cinch and found no need to use the subway during our first trip to NYC. Our four night luxe stay was in a Grand Deluxe Guest Room which was a creation of interior designer Vincente Wolf. The varying blue tones of the furniture and walls are accentuated by the signature crisp white linen on the Heavenly Bed and chrome light pieces. With 400 sq ft of space, there is plenty of room for suitcases as well as an abundance of shopping. You have your own Apple iMac with complimentary internet access to keep in touch with family and friends and to make any last minute bookings, like seeing a Broadway show or a Yankees game. After a lively day in the city, you can soak in the Heavenly Bath and pamper yourself with the L’Occitane amenities.

– ROOM – Grand Deluxe Guest Room has modern decor with a feeling of space. The room has all the necessities for a luxe hotel stay including a 42″ Flat screen TV and Bose iPod docking station
– VIEW – City view
– BED – King size Heavenly Bed
– BATHROOM – Heavenly Bath with a therapeutic spa shower
– BATH AMENITIES – French luxe L’Occitane
– MINI BAR – Plentiful. A good variety of items and refreshments to choose from including complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water
– RESTAURANTS – Shula’s Steak House or Bar 10 to enjoy some evening drinks and light snacks
– ROOM SERVICE – Menu – Did not sample
– HOTEL – With 873 guest rooms the hotel did not feel hectic (though our check-in was late at night and check-out very early in the morning). The Lobby staff that greet you upon entry each time were very friendly. There is appropriate security from dusk to ensure a safe stay
– HEALTH CLUB – Complimentary, but did not visit
– WI FI – Free
– LOCATION – Located in Midtown and close to Broadway and Times Square including M&M’S World, Hershey’s, Sephora, Disney Store and Toys”R”Us with a larger than life in-store ferris wheel. There’s an abundance of casual dining and shops in the area at E-Walk as well as AMC Empire 25 which has twenty-five cinemas. Shopping on Fifth Avenue is within reasonable walking distance including Saks and Bergdorf Goodman that overlooks Central Park
